Leah Lackey - Digi Web Studio
I started designing graphics and webpages back in 1996 and have done graphics and web design both professionally and as a hobby over the years.
Then in 2001, I started my candle company, Joy ‘n Heart, LLC and within a year was also selling candle supplies. Eventually my candle company grew to the point where I had 5 employees, was re-selling fragrance oils I was buying in bulk, had sales reps selling my candles across the US, and I was making hundreds of
candles per day. I started to lose focus of what my original dream was, and that was to work from home - not in a candle factory, even if it was my own. : )
I knew I had to make a choice between making candles or re-selling fragrance oils as I didn’t have the time or desire to do both. So I chose to stop making candles and dedicate myself to my fragrance oil business. I loved working with all the wonderful fragrance oils and creating them from scratch to be strong in soy wax. But 4 years later, I was ready for another change. I really missed and wanted to spend more time creating graphics. So I made the difficult decision to sell my candle supply business in December of 2006.
So that’s where Digi Web Studio was born. Then on August 11, 2007, I got the chance of a lifetime, and I’m so thrilled to announce I now work for Trina Clark over at Digi Scrap Kits as an Administrative Assistant. This means I get to work with her beautiful artwork, update her website, assist with customer service, and develop new ideas - all from the comfort of my own home.
To be able to work with a talented and amazing graphic artist such as Trina, while working from home, is a total dream come true for me! It’s like I’ve come full circle and am now back to doing what I loved more than 10 years ago. The best part is I hardly feel like it’s a “job” because I love what I do so much - and I still have the time and energy to design graphics for my own website, Digi Web Studio.
